Social Work

Our role as social workers at Falmouth High School is to provide social and emotional and mental health support to students grades 9-12. We help guide students on issues related to anxiety, self-esteem, peer-related conflict, substance use, and stress management. We work closely with our Student Services team to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to students experiencing academic struggles, and our services are often listed as accommodations on IEP’s and 504 plans. Our goals are to work in a multi-faceted approach with students and their families, and teachers and administration, to decrease emotional and or behavioral obstacles that occur during the academic day. In addition, we provide community resources and coordination of support systems.

There are many ways that we connect with students: referrals from teachers, family or friends, and often the student themselves. We are inclusive and accepting of students of all identities and backgrounds. We are a safe and affirming space for all LGBTQ+ students and families in our community.

Please contact the Social Work Department at the high school if you have any questions.
